Covered Connections
A83 | Project Summary
This outdoor living renovation in Superior, Colorado, transformed an outdated backyard deck into a stunning and functional retreat. Our team began by demolishing the original deck and replacing it with an extended, covered structure that includes skylights—bringing in abundant natural light while offering protection from the elements.
To further elevate the experience, we added a custom-built pergola on the opposite side of the deck, creating a cozy, shaded zone perfect for outdoor dining or relaxed lounging. The space features modern railing, warm wood finishes, and a thoughtful connection to the backyard, ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.
This deck was designed to blend beautifully with the home's existing architecture, balancing timeless charm with modern outdoor living. Whether hosting lively gatherings or enjoying quiet mornings, this renovation provides a versatile, inviting space tailored to the homeowners' lifestyle.

The cost of adding a covered deck can vary significantly based on factors such as the size, materials, and complexity of the design. On average, a covered deck addition can range from $10,000 to $40,000 or more. Custom features like skylights, built-in seating, or specialized roofing materials can increase the cost. We will work with you to develop a design and budget that fits your needs, ensuring the project stays within your financial goals.
-
The timeline for building a covered deck typically ranges from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the size, complexity of the design, and weather conditions. The process involves site preparation, framing, roofing, and finishing, as well as any custom features like lighting or skylights. We'll provide you with a clear project schedule and ensure the work is completed efficiently, with minimal disruption to your daily life.
-
Yes, building a covered deck generally requires a permit to ensure compliance with local building codes and zoning regulations. This is to ensure that the structure is safe and properly integrated into the existing home. We handle the permit process for you, submitting the necessary paperwork and ensuring that the project meets all regulatory requirements.
-
We take great care in ensuring that the design of the covered deck matches the architectural style of your home. This involves using similar materials, colors, and design elements to create a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Whether your home is contemporary, traditional, or rustic, we’ll work to ensure that the new deck feels like a natural extension of your home, preserving its character while enhancing its functionality.
